The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) course Flow! Required time and content Explanation.

The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) course Flow! Required time and content Explanation.

Besides AEDs, ALSOK also offers basic lifesupport course including how to use AEDs.

Even if an AED is installed in a company, a factory or a facility, etc.. It would be meaningless if the user has no idea how to use it, what the AED is used for and life-saving for.

Make sure that anyone can use an AED at any time by thoroughly learning what you have to do.

WHAT IS AED

WHAT IS AED?

AED stands for “Automated External Defibrillator”.

I suppose it’s somehow a formal and specific term, but as the name suggests, AED is “a device that automatically removes fibrillation”.

I would like to give further explanation about “fibrillation” in more details from the next time.

But when the heart has a spasm for some reason, the AED automatically analyzes the condition of the heart and determines whether an electric shock is necessary.

It is an easy-to-use device, and even ordinary citizens (non-medical personnel) without medical knowledge can perform lifesaving activities by following the in-built voice prompts.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time.

Deepening your understanding of AEDs, even a little, might help save one precious life.

Length of Time required for AED training

Length of Time required for AED training

The AED course consists of 2 parts: a theoretical part which lasts 30 minutes and 30 minutes of practising. The total time is approximately 60 minutes.

Additionally, the course also provides the knowledge about the flow of first aid treatment besides AED-how-to-use. In the first part, the flow of AED and CPR would be explained in an easy-to-understand manner by using materials and videos. In the practical part, a mannequin and AED Demo/ trainer will be used to demonstrate the process from the discovery of the injured to the arrival of the ambulance.

Flow of the AED training Day

Flow of the AED training Day

We will prepare neccessary tools on the training day, so you don’t need to prepare anything in advance.

It doesn’t matter how many people participate in the lecture. Please participate as much as possible so that as many people as possible can learn about Basic life support.

Since the number of mannequins and AED demonstration machines is limited, up to 40 members might participate in the practical training.

After 30 minutes of leacture, we will move on to practical training. Since training is conducted with a mannequin and AED on the floor, it is better to wear clothes that are easy to move around in.

The contents of the AED training

The contents of the AED training

First of all, we will get started with the theoretical part which lasts 30 minutes. The rate of survival rate of the injured or sudden cardiac arrest victim decreases every minute passes by. It is vital to learn first aid and how to use an AED.

In addition, you will be able to watch videos of the guiders actually using AEDs to save lives, as well as videos about how to use AEDs. In this part, you will learn what cardiopulmonary arrest and ventricular fibrillation are, how they affect CPR and the usage of an AED.

Next, in the second half of the practical training, we will use a mannequin and an AED Trainer/ Demo to actually demonstrate primary lifesaving.

Beginning with how to call out to the injured and how to ask for cooperation from the surrounders. Also, learners might practice chest compressions and artificial respiration using a mannequin.

For AED how-to-use demonstration, we will use a Trainer/ Demo machine that is almost with the same functions with the actual AED. Open the lid, turn on the power, attach the electrode pads to the mannequin, and push the button to deliver an electric shock.

After that, it will be a question and answer session. The training lasts about 60 minutes.

The flow of the AED course! The required time and content explanation [Summary]

This concludes the introduction of the AED training provided by ALSOK. Depending on the number of participants, the content and required time will change slightly.

It is also possible to make arrangements such as lengthening the training time due to the request of increasing the number of participants.

In fact, elementary and junior high schools in Japan have AED and first aid classes, so everyone has the opportunity to learn such content.

However, the knowledge about basic lifesupport in Vietnam has not become popular yet. As I wrote in another writing in countries where the survival rate from cardiac arrest is high, the high survival rate of the general public who were present at the scene is linked to the high survival rate. Hopefully, All Vietnamese from the whole country might take part in ALSOK training and many people might get correct primary lifesupport the knowledge.

Please contact us if you have any inquiries about AED installation.

Delivery as soon as possible after ordering from the inquiry, it is possible to respond quickly to unforeseen situations.
